Welcome to my little corner of the baking world! I’m Melinda—baker, creator, and full-time lover of all things homemade.

Some of my sweetest childhood memories were made in my Granny’s kitchen. Pitting cherries for fresh pie. Crushing graham crackers for her famous peanut butter bars. So many delicious things created by hand, right there on the family farm.

As a tribute to her—and the land where those precious memories were made—I named my bakery Mountain View Sweetery.

Owning a bakery or coffee shop has been a dream of mine for years. But as a young single mom, it never felt like the right time. I didn’t want to sacrifice time with my kids chasing a business dream that didn’t feel practical. So I tucked that dream away.

Then, a few years ago, a dear friend encouraged me to think smaller... to start right where I was. With her support (and a little nudge from the universe), I launched my cottage bakery from home.

I’m starting with a handful of family recipes, a whole lot of love, and a dream to share small-batch, made-from-scratch treats that feel like they came straight from Granny’s kitchen.

Every sweet treat is baked in my Northern Colorado kitchen using real ingredients and time-honored techniques (including the dreaded wooden spoon 😅).
